The term common carrier is used in a wide variety of industries and for public transportation companies. In the context of telecommunications and the Internet, common carrier refers to network operators and Internet service providers(ISPs) that offer public communications services that can be transmitted using radio technology via terrestrial networks, with satellite transmission, submarine cables, with microwave technology, in mobile networks or other radio networks.
