common channel framework (802.11s) (CCF)
In mesh networks, the Enhanced Distributed Channel Access( EDCA) access method leads to limitations in performance, since EDCA was not designed for mesh networks with many mesh access points( MAP).
The Common Channel Framework ( CCF) is an alternative access method that relies on the availability of multiple separate radio channels.
This method was proposed during the standardization of 802.11s as an alternative to Mesh Deterministic Access( MDA), which was eventually incorporated into the standard.
In the CCF method, two mesh access points agree on a control channel for the actual data transmission on a free data channel.
