common command set (SCSI) (CCS)

The Common Command Set(CCS) is the standardized command set for the Small ComputerSystem Interface( SCSI).

The Common Command Set was defined in a working paper during the development of SCSI-1, since SCSI solutions with proprietary command sets were already on the market at that time.

The Common Command Set contains commands such as Read, Write or Format for hard disk drives, which the drive implements independently.
