compact disc programmable read only memory (CD-PROM)

A compact disc( CD) developed by Philips and Sony in 1987, on which data is already written and which also keeps an area reserved for additional data that the user can still add. A special drive is required for the CD- PROM, but it can also play CD-DAs and CD-ROMs.
