complementary color filter

Complementary color filtersare color filters used in optical recording technology in camcorders. They use the complementary colors cyan (C), magenta (M) and yellow (Y) as filter colors.

Unlike pima color filters, which block two-thirds of the color spectrum, complementary color filters filter only one- third. For example, the red filter of the primary color filter in the Bayer filter blocks the colorsgreen and blue, whereas in the complementary color filter the yellow filter blocks only the blue spectral components. As a result, more light falls on the other two color pixels in the complementary color filter.
