The connection time is the time during which a connection exists and can be used for data transmission or information exchange.

The connection time begins with the acceptance of the call at the called terminal and ends as soon as the connection is disconnected. For certain fixed connections, it begins when the calling terminal sends a start signal.

Inonline terminology, connection time is the time during which users use the services and resources of Internet service providers(ISPs).
