consumer profiling

Consumer profiling is a method of qualitative research into consumer behavior. In online business, consumer profiling is part of online marketing and examines consumers' habits when making purchasing decisions, their demographics and psychographics, lifestyles, motives and interests, and preferences for specific products.

In online marketing, this data is collected online and offline during online shopping and transactions. Cookies are also used in the process and credit card data is used.

With consumer profiling, a digital profiling, the customer is recorded as accurately as possible, the data is collected in a database, supplemented and evaluated during the next visit. Profiling defines the target group, the collected data is extracted, organized, interlinked and analyzed using data mining. The results reflect the buying behavior of the target group and that of individuals.
