Content management(CM) is the generic term for a wide variety of techniques for managing content and structured content. According to this, Web Content Management(WCM) and Enterprise Content Management( ECM) are parts of content management.
Content Management (CM) is concerned with the management and delivery ofdigital content throughout its lifecycle. It is about preparing content so that it can be presented on a wide variety of platforms, channels, and devices. Unlike documents, content is generated specifically for publications.
Content management is designed to support those responsible for generating content, transferring the data into the appropriate format(Acrobat, HTML), guiding the content through the editing process, and handling publishing, storage, and archiving. These functions are performed by content management systems( CMS).
