corporation for open systems (COS)

Corporation for Open Systems (COS) is an association of leading computer and communications industry manufacturers and user associations. The COS organization focuses on the development of interoperable OSI and ISDN products. Membership is open to all organizations worldwide, and membership now numbers well over 200.

The Corporation for Open Systems maintains cooperative relationships with CCITT, ISO, the Manufacturing Automation Protocol( MAP) and Technical Office Protocol( TOP) working groups, the National Institute of Standards and Technology ( NIST), OSI workshops, and Standards Promotion and Application Group ( SPAG).
