credit based shaper (AVB) (CBS)
Credit-based shaping (CBS) is a technique used in IEEE 8002.1Q AudioVideoBridging( AVB) that guarantees a latency of 2 ms in a network with a data rate of 100 Mbps and seven hops. Credit-based shapers operate on one or more queues originating from a port. The technique is fair because it interrupts low- priority AVB traffic or burst traffic for priority traffic.
