current injection test (EMC) (CIT)

Current injection test( CIT) is a test procedure used to test the behavior of test objects under current supply. The CIT test determines at which current supply certain disturbances or even destructions occur.

The test objects of the Current Injection Test can be electronic components, devices and systems whose behavior is tested at high- frequency currents with frequencies between 10 MHz and 400 MHz. The currents may well be several kilo-amperes. The behavior is expressed in the RF emissions emitted by cable harnesses, components or devices. If high currents are used fortesting, the procedure is called Bulk Current Injection Test (BCIT).
