cutting plotter

Cutting plotters are used for cutting contours from foils. This technique is mainly used for presentations at trade fairs or display stands.

In the cutting plotter, a cutting head takes the place of the print head in normal plotters. Such a cutting head is equipped with knives and cuts the labeling foils in such a way that the carrier foil is not damaged. Depending on the technology, cutting heads are distinguished between a drag knife and a tangential knife. The main difference lies in the position of the cutting tip.

Cutting plotters are available in flatbed and drum versions. As with other flatbed plotters or drum plotters, the positioning of the cutting head is done by the forward and backward movement of the drum and by the uniaxial movement of the cutting head.
