data-based referenced navigation (DBRN)
Database-driven navigation systems (DBRN) work with geodata or geographic coordinates that are stored in a database.
In case of navigation system failure, DBRN data can take over navigation, attitude control, steering and positioning functions with a high position accuracy for a certain time. However, applications that cannot be supported by the GPS system, such as underwater navigation, location determination in tunnels or galleries, can also be realized with database-supported navigation systems.
