data interconnection
A data network is an interconnected system of computer networks. Like the functional network or the availability network, the data network characterizes the methodical access of services.
A data network includes the possibility of access by different terminals or other end devices and computers to geographically distributed databases or servers. Data federation is about the logical coupling of spatially separated data sets, supported by transmission protocols and higher (operational) system constructs to ensure dataconsistency and timeliness. A commonly used method for ensuring data consistency is two- phase commit, where transactions are handled in two phases.
The goal of data interconnection is elementary and can be considered the basis of any distributed data processing.
