database extrusion prevention (DBEP)

Database Extrusion Prevention (DBEP) is a protection system against unauthorized access to databases.

Depending on their functionality, DBEP systems control database access and usage activities, check access permissions, detect database attacks, log database activities, perform auditing, and then intervene when activities deviate from all previous procedures. To this end, they learn the normal usage patterns and know signatures of known attacks that stand out due to log abnormalities. If the audited activities deviate from the normal usage patterns, DBEP systems can stop the activities or notify the administrator.

DBEP systems work preventively. To prevent damage, they can intervene in SQL transactions and block transactions.
