Database management deals with the management and storage of data and records, their updating, protection and reporting. Database management consists of a collection of programs that allow database users to perform the specified functions. It is concerned with Data Maintenance, Database Administration and Database Management System( DBMS).
Data Maintenance deals with obtaining, updating and maintaining data so that it can be used by authorized users during the entire validity period of the data. It involves adding new records, modifying existing ones, and deleting older ones that are no longer needed. Database Administration( DBA) includes installation and configuration, upgrade, monitoring and maintenance of the physical database. And the Database Management System is used to organize the data, store it, find records and keep it secure.
