deep link
There are many different types of links on websites. A deep link is a link whose landing page is a lower subpage in the website hierarchy.
A deep link does not refer to the homepage, but directly to a website. The distinction between surface-related links, so-called surface links, which lead to the homepage, and deep links has a legal background, which lies in the content evaluation and in the question of the copyright of web pages.
Inline linking, a technique used to embed objects from other websites into one's own, belongs to deep links.
