The termination point for line technology( APL), also known as the demarcation point, is the point at which the network operator's responsibility ends and the customer's area of responsibility begins; the so-called minimum point of entry ( MPOE), also known as the point of demarcation. Another term for the termination point of line technology is the connection point of the network operator( APN).
The termination point of line technology is the dividing line at which responsibility for maintenance and installation of telephone cabling and equipment passes from the telephone company to the customer. The demarcation point is often the point where the cable physically enters the building. The demarcation point varies from country to country. The term termination point line technology is related to the line structure of the telecommunications network. This line structure passes through the various exchanges and ends at the termination point line technology. Normally, the terminating points for line technology are formed by an end branch.
The APL point can be implemented in a wide variety of designs. Often it is a small connection box installed inside or outside the house. A connection and distribution box can also form the line technology connection point. In the case of larger distribution facilities, it can also be a connection strip.

The line termination point is connected to the local exchange via the branch cable and the main cable. It forms the distribution point from which the copper twisted pairs go directly to the access points( ADO) in the subscribers ' premises. The fiber-optic line technology termination point is abbreviated as GF-APL.
