destination point code (DPC)

The DPC field (Destination Point Code) is a 14-bit long data field of a signalling message in SS7 networks. The 14 bits can be used to represent 16,348 network addresses. This data field contains the identification code for the destination subscriber's exchange. The Originating Point Code ( OCP), on the other hand, identifies the caller's exchange. The Destination Point (DPC) is described in ITU-T Recommendation Q.704.
