dial-up line
A dial-up line is a connection set up for a specific duration between two communication participants: an end-to-end connection. Such a dial-up line is initiated by setting up the connection by dialing a telephone number and remains in place for the duration of the information or data exchange. It is terminated when the connection is terminated. The costs for the dial-up line depend on the connection time.
