diffused light

In light propagation, a distinction is made between diffuse light, divergent light and convergent light. Diffuse light is disordered, low- contrast scattered light.

The light rays of diffuse light do not emanate from a single point light source; they are distributed evenly in all directions by technical devices such as diffusers, foils or by natural phenomena such as fog. Diffuse light is generated by different light sources, reflected or absorbed by objects, walls or air molecules and does not follow a uniform direction.

Illuminations with diffuse light are low in contrast because the light rays strike the objects in a disordered manner from different directions.
