distributed device management (XRN) (DDM)
Distributed Device Management(DMM) includes the control and management functions for Expandable Resilient Networking( XRN).
DMM can use SNMP or telnet, as well as web management, to manage the XRN switching fabric, which has a single IP address. Management tasks include updating software, changing routing algorithms, configuringquality of service( QoS), and configuring VLANs.
Distributed device management makes the behavior of the entire XRN Distributed Fabric (Expandable Resilient Networking, XRN) like that of individual Layer 2 switches and Layer 3 switches, and management instances share configuration parameters among all switches, simplifying configuration management. Configuration synchronization is maintained across both switches even if one of the switches is faulty.
