The Document Content Description(DCD) is intended to compensate for the weaknesses of the Document Type Definition( DTD), which does not use XML-compliantsyntax.

Unlike Document Type Definition (DTD), the DCD framework uses XML-compliant syntax. DCD can be used to specify data types and the structures of elements and attributes. It also supports critical e-commerce applications.

Document Content Description (DCD) can be used to specify data types, which is very helpful in interpreting digits, and also to reuse tag series in different documents.
