dynamic data channel (DDC)

Dynamic Data Channel or Dedicated Data Channel(DDC) are used for dedicated or dynamic data channel allocation in Terrestrial Trunked Radio( TETRA). Both methods are used for the allocation of IP data channels.

Dedicated channel allocation is similar to bandwidth allocation, where bandwidth resources are allocated to a different data channel. With this method, certain users or user groups can be prioritized in their channel capacity. In contrast, Dynamic Data Channel offers high flexibility in voice and data. The available resources are used more efficiently and voice communication can be prioritized.
