error protocol (EP)

  1. An error log is the result list of a check program. It is the listing of all errors with time, when the error occurred, with error location or port, type of error, etc.
  2. In the XNS protocols, Xerox Network System (XNS), there is an Error Protocol (EP) that indicates errors during data transmission. The Error Protocol data packet is always activated by the Destination Socket of the system that detected the error. The Error data packet is sent back to the source address from which it came. No error packets are generated on multicast and broadcast transmissions.
