excess burst size (FR) (Be)

The Excess Burst Size (Be) is a dynamic bandwidth allocation in the Frame Relay( FR).

The network operator can use the excess burst size to specify the committed information rate( CIR) or the committed burst size( Bc) to specify the bandwidth requirement.

The Excess Burst Size specifies the amount of data by which the Committed Burst Size can be exceeded in a specific time interval if there is excess capacity in the frame relay network. The maximum transmission rate of the frame relay connection results from the committed burst size and the excess burst size.
