fiber to the cell (FTTCell)

Fiber to the Cell (FTTCell) is one of many FTTx technologies used in mobile communications to connect the NodeB( NB) in UMTS networks or the Evolved NodeB( eNB) of LTE networks to the Optical Distribution Network( ODN) or GPON. The Optical Network Unit( ONU), which forms the termination of the GPON connection, is realized by a special unit, the Cellular Backhaul Unit( CBU).
