One of the main goals of the Fibre Alliance is to define and implement a Fibre Channel Management Information Base( MIB) based on the Simple Network Management Protocol ( SNMP). The MIB is a set of parameters and variables whose values describe the status of a network and its components. Fibre Channel Management Integration provides a common methodology for managing different components in a heterogeneous storage network.
