filter pin connector (FPC)

To prevent overvoltages and interference radiation, which are triggered by electromagnetic pulses( EMP) and can influence the functions of electronic circuits, filters are used at critical points to prevent interference voltages.

Such neuralgic points are located in devices and systems where cables are routed from the outside into the interior of the device, namely at cable bushings and at connectors.

In connectors, small filters are connected to the connector pins to prevent voltage spikes, so-called filter pin connectors( FPC) or connector pin filters. Plug pin filters are low-pass filters, designed as T or Pi links, that attenuate spikes. They are housed in the connector couplings and consist of capacitors that dissipate the interference peaks to ground. The attenuation can be further increased by inductors or ferrite beads. The low-pass filters allow only the low frequencies to pass and are connected directly to connector pins.
