finish-to-start (PM)

In project management, Finish-to-Start denotes the logical relationship between successive activities.

Finish-to-Start determines the point in time at which an activity can be executed. Finish-to-Start is determined by the project team or project manager and requires that the previous work is completely finished before the subsequent work can begin. Under no circumstances may subsequent activities be started until the previous ones have been declared complete by a responsible party.
