flash SMS

A flash SMS or flash message is a short message that is displayed directly on the cell phone display as soon as it is received. The flash SMS does not have to be activated with the display key.

In contrast to the normal short message service (SMS), cell phones can neither send the short messages nor save their receipt, since neither function is implemented in the cellular network. Sending is done via personal computers with appropriate web-based SMS services.

Flash SMS can be used for messagingand in mobile advertising. They can be used to transmit text messages with animations that take advantage of the attention of mobile users.
