forum of incident response and security teams (FIRST)

The Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) was founded in 1990 and is an international association of organizations concerned with the security ofcomputers, networks and data communications.

First includes diverse computer emergency response teams from government and private institutions, research, military, corporate, and government. First promotes cooperation among these teams, coordinates their activities, ensures the processing and distribution of information, and supports the prevention of security-related incidents.

In addition to providing advice, First also offers concrete help with security problems.

First grew out of the computer emergency response team CERT and is part of the Internet Society( ISOC).
