guaranteed time slot (GTS)

In wireless sensor networks, in ZigBee and Low Rate Wireless Personal Area Network ( LR-WPAN), the PAN coordinator can provide Full Function Devices ( FFD) with a guaranteed transmission rate upon their request. For this purpose, the superframe provides several time slots, the Guaranteed TimeSlots (GTS), which the PAN coordinator allocates.
