high band
In satellite transmission, high band refers to the frequency range in the Ku band between 11.70 GHz and 12.75 GHz in which digital TV is transmitted.
The lower transmission range is referred to as the low band and lies immediately below the high band between 10.70 GHz and 11.70 GHz. The high band can only be received by universal LNBs and dual-band LNBs.
Since the gigahertz frequencies of the high band can only be transmitted via high-frequency cables to a limited extent, the high-band frequency range is mixed to a lower intermediate frequency by means of local oscillator frequency( LOF) in the LNB converter and fed to the satellite receiver.
