high current thermal fuse (HCTF)
A high current temperature fuse, HCTF, is a power component. It is a fuse that interrupts the flow of current when a specified temperature is exceeded.
The operating temperature of high-current thermal fuses is at temperature ranges up to 160 °C. At temperatures of 230 °C, they shut down the circuit. The shutdown process is irreversible. The current carrying capacity of such a thermal fuse depends on the mounting and environmental conditions. HCTF fuses can be made of metallic and ceramic materials. Their cold resistance is only a few tenths of an ohm.
HCTF fuses are used in power electronics and automotive engineering.
