high-power electromagnetics (HPEM)

High-Power Electromagnetics (HPEM) is a technology that can be used to generate strong electromagnetic fields or currents and voltages.

The generated interference fields can disrupt the functionality of electronic systems or damage them. The magnitude of the interference fields is far above those encountered in normal operation and have field strengths in excess of 100 V/m, which can generate interference with voltages in excess of 100 V in electronic circuits.
