high speed data (automotive) (HSD)
The HSD connector, High Speed Data, is a 4- pin high-speed interface based on a star quad.Signals from USB interfaces or from IEEE 1394 can be transmitted via the HSD connector system.
For high-speed transmission, the impedance is 100 ohms. The data rates of the HSD connector system range up to 1.6 Gbit/s. The cable length can be up to 10 m. Crosstalk and interference are prevented by the cable design with appropriate shielding. For signal transmission, the HSD interface uses the LVDS protocol (Low Voltage Differential Signaling).
The HSD connector system can be coded with colored mechanical coding devices and is suitable for the various bus concepts of automotive technology, such as the MOST bus, the LIN and CAN bus and APIX, and also for Ethernet and Mobile High-Definition Link( MHL).
