inland navigation radio

There are special radio services for a wide range of applications, including inland navigation.

Inland navigation radio enables inland navigation operators to communicate with each other, i.e. from ship to ship, on a ship and with the port authority via corresponding radio frequencies defined by the Federal Network Agency. In addition, inland navigation radio can be used to exchange public messages and obtain nautical information. The radio frequencies that can be used for inland navigation radio are defined in the Frequency Usage Plan (FreqNP) of the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA).
