inquiry access code (Bluetooth) (IAC)
The Inquiry Access Code (IAC) is a data field in the Bluetooth frame that consists of 68 or 72 bits. It is used to detect devices within range in Bluetooth networks.
The IAC code is one of three codes that are sent in the Bluetooth frame as access codes.
Besides the Inquiry Access Code, which is used during the inquiry phase, there are the Channel Access Code( CAC) and the Device Access Code( DAC). The Inquiry Access Code (IAC) is divided into the General Inquiry Access Code (GIAC), which is used to access all Bluetooth devices, and the Dedicated Inquiry Access Code( DIAC), which is used to access a specific Bluetooth device. The IAC code is derived from a standardLAN Access Profile(L AP) value.
