international color code

There are international color designations for lighting lamps, which ensure that fluorescent lamps can be clearly classified. The international color designation makes sense in that lamps with the same color temperature can produce different color effects.

The international color designation is a three- digit numerical code in which the first digit characterizes the color effect that light produces when reflected from an object. The color rendering index knows values up to 10, at which value all colors of the environment appear natural.

Second and third digit of the international color designation

Second and third digit of the international color designation

The most natural color effect is indicated by a 9 in the first digit. The second and third digits stand for the color temperature in Kelvin, whereby only the first two digits of the color temperature are taken in each case. Neutral white with a color temperature of 6,500 K thus becomes 65 in the color designation. For natural color effect, the complete color designation for such a fluorescent lamp is 965.
