international digital publishing forum (IDPF)

The International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) is a U.S. organization that represents the interests of publishers and editors of. The organization includes publishers, software companies, and consumer electronics manufacturers.

IDPF's more than 100 member companies include software corporations such as Microsoft, e-book reader manufacturers such as Hewlett Packard, and many publishing companies. The IDPF has collaborated on the standardized, interoperable file format for e-books, Electronic Publication( EPUB). This file format consists of three open standards, the Open Publication Structure( OPS), Open Packaging Format( OPF), and the Open Container Format( OCF).
