international information systems security certification consortium (ISC2)

The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC2), is an international non-profit society for information technology security professionals. The organization takes care of the training and certification of its members and aims to make the information society as a whole more secure through security-related training, by improving productivity and effectiveness and the resilience of information-dependent economies.

Those trained are certified as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Certified Authorization Professional( CAP), and Systems Security Certified Practitioner( SSCP). The (ISC2) certifications are information technology credentials that meet the rigorous requirements of ISO/ IEC Standard 17024, a global benchmark forpersonnel assessment and certification.

Founded back in 1988, the ISC2 consortium has more than 80,000 certified members and operates in over 135 countries. In addition to its headquarters in the USA, the consortium has offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
