learning objects metadata (LOM)

Learning Objects Metadata (LOM) are standards for a learning object developed by the Learning Technology Standards Committee ( LTSC), an IEEE committee. It is an object model for learning materials whose metadata is used to describe learning modules and learning objects. They are stored with their specific characteristics such as the author, the target group or the content and can be identified and used on the basis of these characteristics.
