line chart
Line diagrams are diagrams with which functional relationships are represented in a rectangular coordinate system. In the coordinate system several physical, organizational or economic quantities can be represented over time (x).
For example, a line diagram can display level values over time, or the visitors of a website over the time of day, or the monthly turnover over the year, or the temperature over the days of the month. The line chart is formed from the connecting lines between the respective measured values and thus represents the connecting line between the individual points.
The line chart is a diagram used in presentation graphics. It graphically illustrates how certain physical, organizational or economic parameters develop.
Line charts are drawn in rectangular Cartesian coordinate systems. They can also be used as a basis for area diagrams.
