link access protocol for Dm channel (LAP-Dm)

The LAP- Dm protocol is a backup protocol for the Dm channel in GSM networks. The LAP-Dm protocol is an adapted version of the LAP-D protocol from the D channel in ISDN. The protocol ensures controlled communication between the mobile station and the base station. LAP-Dm is based on High Level Data Link Control ( HDLC).
