Mail filters or e-mail filters are software programs in e-mail clients or in mail servers that examine incoming e-mail according to certain criteria. They can be digital filters, spam filters, virus scanners or junk filters.
Mail filters examine the email address, subject and content for certain keywords and sort the emails into the appropriate inboxes or sort them out altogether and move them to the trash. This way, unwanted bulk emails, Unsolicited Bulk Emails (UDE), and junk mails can be moved to the Junk Mail folder and spams can be destroyed. Mail filters in e-mail clients are functionally equipped with a wide range of filtering options and can filter out certain words or letter combinations, among other things.
Mail filters can filter incoming and outgoing e-mails and thus handle e-mails in accordance with the Lawful Interception( LI) specified by the legislator.
