mailtrust (E-Mail) (MTT)

MailTrust (MTT) is a cryptographic application for email encryption and file transfer.

The concept of MailTrust was developed by the Teletrust Association and is based as far as possible on established standards such as Privacy Enhanced Mail( PEM), S/ MIME, X.509, PKCS and PKIX and has a security infrastructure( PKI) for digital certificates. To make the standards interoperable, special MailTrust profiles have been defined, including for S/MIME.

The MailTrust procedure can be used to secure documents. It is taken into account in the signature specifications of the German Federal Office for Information Security( BSI).
