main exchange (MX)
Main exchanges (HVSt), Main Exchange (MX), are exchanges in the third highest level of the hierarchically structured long-distance network.
Main exchanges are connected as transit nodes in the meshed network core with the central exchanges(ZVSt), which are one level higher in the long-distance network hierarchy, or the node exchanges(KVSt), which are one hierarchy level lower. There are also cross-lines to other main exchanges.
