mediation device (MD)

Switching device or Mediation Device (MD) is the general term for network node equipment used to distribute, concentrate or convert connections and data. Example: In the Telecommunication Management Network ( TMN) architecture, the Mediation Device is responsible for capturing (collecting) the management data of the network elements.
