medium frequency (MF)
Medium Frequencies(MF) are frequencies in the frequency range between 300 kHz and 3 MHz, with wavelengths between 1 km and 100 m.
For this frequency range, the International Telecommunication Union( ITU) uses the band designation 6. The band number (N) and the frequency range have a direct mathematical relationship from 0.3 x 10expN to 3 x 10expN. The expN of band number 6 is 1,000,000, multiplied by 0.3 results in a lower frequency of 300 kHz.
